Frequently asked questions

We serve children 4 months through 6 years old. Infants (4–18 months) are at Playa Vista; toddlers (18 months–3 years) and preschoolers (3–6 years) are at Playa Vista and Mid-City. Our infant waitlist is currently full and not accepting new inquiries; we’ll reopen it when spots are on the horizon.
Our Mid-City tuition — and our Founding Families offer — is listed on our Tuition page. Playa Vista tuition is shared by request; just reach out.
Yes. Once a child shows signs of readiness, we partner closely with families and guide them through our recommended potty-training approach.
Our hours are 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
Footsteps observes all federal holidays. We also close for seasonal breaks: one week for spring break, one week for summer break, and two weeks for winter break. Families receive the full calendar of closure dates at the start of each school year, and we send reminders ahead of every break.
You can join the waitlist by filling out our enrollment application. There is a one-time, nonrefundable fee of $110 to confirm your spot on our waitlist. Not quite ready to apply? Our interest form is a no-commitment way to stay in touch, and we'll reach out as spots open up.
We use a play-based, child-led curriculum that incorporates exploration, sensory learning, and purposeful play. Children experience hands-on activities, outdoor play, social-emotional skill building, early literacy, art, and music.
Every Footsteps family gets the Brightwheel app. Teachers share photos and updates throughout the day — activities, meals, naps, and the little wins — and you can message our team directly any time.
Spanish immersion begins in our toddler program at 18 months at Playa Vista and Mid-City. Teachers lead activities and routines in Spanish, then follow with English support. The infant program does not use Spanish immersion.
Playa Vista provides a hot organic lunch for toddlers, preschoolers, and infants 12–18 months; families provide snacks. Infant families provide all milk and food through 12 months. Mid-City families currently provide a nut-free lunch and snacks while our hot-lunch program is being prepared.
Yes, we are fully licensed by the California Department of Social Services.
Not right now — our program day runs 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. We're a new and growing school, though, and we know every family's schedule is different. If timing is the one thing standing in your way, reach out — we're always happy to talk it through and see what's possible.
Yes, we are a nut-free school. To help keep all children safe, we ask families not to send any foods containing peanuts or tree nuts to school. We also take additional precautions during meal and snack times to support children with allergies and sensitivities.
